Meta just rolled out advertising access on “Threads” to all eligible Facebook advertisers globally.

What are “Threads”?
Threads was launched back in July 2023 as a conversational, text-first social media platform. So, Threads is all about short, engaging text posts, although you can still add photos, videos & links. The Threads layout is very similar to X/Twitter & Instagram, but the vibe is much more chiller.

- Text-Based Posts: Up to 500 characters, perfect for quick updates, thoughts, questions, or stories.
- Visual Support: Add photos, carousels, videos (up to 5 minutes), and links to your posts.
- Threaded Conversations: You can reply to your own posts, building conversations just like Twitter threads.
- Instagram Integration: Sign up with your Instagram handle, carry over your followers, and cross-post with ease.
- No Hashtags or Trending Topics (yet): Threads is intentionally designed to feel less overwhelming and more natural.
Threads was Meta’s answer to X/Twitter & since its launch, its been picking up pace and currently boasts over 320 million active users globally.
Advertising on Threads
Up until this month (April 2025), Threads was only open for advertising on to a handful of brands in the US & Japan, but now Meta has officially opened doors to everyone. This means, if you are already running ads on Facebook & Instagram, you can add “Threads” too in the Ad Set of Meta Ads Manager.
Why This Matters:
- New Audience, Fresh Vibes: Threads feels less “salesy” than other platforms right now. Early adopters have a real opportunity to stand out without the noise of a crowded feed.
